    La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences et méthodes d'essais applicables aux esters méthyliques d'acides gras (dénommés EMAG par la suite), commercialisés et livrés comme carburant diesel pour automobiles, soit à une concentration de 100%, soit comme composant du carburant, conformément aux exigences de l'EN 590. A la concentration de 100%, elle est applicable aux carburants utilisés par les véhicules à moteur diesel conçus ou adaptés pour fonctionner avec 100 % d'EMAG.
