    La présente partie de cette Norme européenne détermine les exigences dimensionnelles et les exigences qualitatives minimales (concernant les défauts optiques et d'aspect) s'appliquant à la glace telle que définie dans l'EN 572-1, pour l'utilisation dans la construction. La présente partie de cette norme ne s'applique qu'à la glace fournie en plateaux à largeur de fabrication et en dimensions à largeur de fabrication. L'EN 572-8 donne des informations sur les glaces fournies dans des dimensions autres que celles couvertes par la présente partie.
