    La présente partie de l'ISO 14230 décrit la couche physique fondée sur l'ISO 9141 et sur laquelle les services de diagnostic vont être mis en oeuvre. Elle repose sur la couche physique décrite dans l'ISO 9141-2, élargie pour prendre en compte les véhicules ayant une alimentation électrique de 12 V ou 24 V. NOTE: Dans la présente partie de l'ISO 14230, les valeurs données entre parenthèses sont celles relatives aux systèmes 24 V.
