La présente Norme internationale donne des directives générales pour la recherche et le dénombrement des coliformes. La présente Norme internationale s'applique à: - des produits destinés à la consommation humaine et à l'alimentation des animaux, et - des échantillons environnementaux au voisinage de la production et de la manipulation des aliments. Le dénombrement est réalisé par calcul du nombre le plus probable (NPP) après incubation à 30 degrés C ou à 37 degrés C en milieu liquide.
