Zur Konkretisierung der Forderungen der Maschinendirektive enthält die Norm Angaben zur Berechnung, Konstruktion und Prüfung von hydraulischen Ladekranen und für ihre Montage auf Fahrzeugen oder sonstigen Unterkonstruktionen sowie sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Massnahmen. Angaben für die Benutzerinformation und die notwendigen Kennzeichnungen (z. B. Tragfähigkeit) sind ebenfalls enthalten. Die Berechnung der Tragwerke ist in einem informativem Anhang enthalten.
