Appendix A: Soil Classifications
Specifies requirements for the installation of pipelines constructed in accordance with ASME B31.8, 'Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping Systems' and ASME B31.4, 'Pipeline Transportation Systems for Liquids and Slurries'. Describes trenching and excavation for pipelines to be buried below existing grade to a depth of 6.1 m (20 feet) or less.
