This European Standard specifies requirements for the construction, performance and primary packaging of fireworks of category 1, 2 and 3 of the following types:¾ðaerial wheels;¾ðbangers;¾ðbatteries;¾ðbatteries requiring external support;¾ðBengal flames;¾ðBengal matches;¾ðBengal sticks;¾ðChristmas crackers;¾ðcombinations;¾ðcombinations requiring external support;¾ðcompound fireworks;¾ðcrackling granules;¾ðdouble bangers;¾ðflash bangers;¾ðflash pellets;¾ðfountains;¾ðground movers;¾ðground spinners;¾ðhand-held sparklers;¾ðjumping crackers;¾ðjumping ground spinners;¾ðmines;¾ðmini rockets;¾ðnon-hand-held sparklers;¾ðnovelty matches;¾ðparty poppers;¾ðrockets;¾ðRoman candles;¾ðserpents;¾ðshot tubes;¾ðsnaps;¾ðspinners;¾ðtable bombs;¾ðthrowdowns;¾ðwheels.This European Standard does not apply for articles containing military explosives or commercial blasting agents except for black powder or flash composition. This European Standard does not apply for articles containing pyrotechnic composition that includes any of the following substances:¾ðarsenic or arsenic compounds;¾ðhexachlorobenzene;¾ðmixtures containing a mass fraction of chlorates greater than 80 %;¾ðmixtures of chlorates with metals;¾ðmixtures of chlorates with red phosphorus (except when used in Christmas crackers, party poppers or snaps);¾ðmixtures of chlorates with potassium hexacyanoferrate(II);¾ðmixtures of chlorates with sulfur (these mixtures are allowed for friction heads only);¾ðmixtures of chlorates with sulfides;¾ðlead or lead compounds;¾ðmercury compounds;¾ðwhite phosphorus;¾ðpicrates or picric acid;¾ðpotassium chlorate with a mass fraction of bromates greater than 0,15 %;¾ðsulfur with an acidity, expressed in mass fraction of sulphuric acid, greater than 0,002 %;¾ðzirconium with a particle size of less than 40 µm.
