Defines material, performance requirements and test methods for silver-plated table and decorative holloware made principally from metals for use at or upon the dining table. Defines composition limits for basic metals for fabrication of the holloware before silver-plating. Applicable to decorative items eg vases and trophies, jugs, dishes, tea- and coffee-pots, trays and tureens, candlesticks wine-coolers etc. Does not include holloware made entirely from precious metals, brass, nickel-silver pewter, stainless steel, ceramics or glass, but covers brass, copper, nickel-silver, pewter and stainless steel holloware with a silver-plated coating and attachments.
