Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Specifies requirements for round seamless copper alloy tubes, designated as either brass which is intended primarily for sanitary plumbing and stormwater drainage services, or copper nickel which is intended primarily for water services. The ranges of nominal sizes are DN 10 to DN 150 inclusive for Type B brass, and DN 32 to DN 150 inclusive for Type D brass and DN 10 to DN 80 inclusive for Type B copper nickel. Details of dimensions and tolerances, chemical composition, temper and form of material, testing and marking are specified. The appendices propose purchasing guidelines, safe working pressure, testing pressure, and hydrostatic test.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This Standard specifies requirements for round seamless copper alloy tubes intended for use in pressure and non-pressure plumbing and drainage applications as follows:(a) Brass tubes intended primarily for sanitary plumbing and stormwater drainage services.(b) Copper nickel tubes intended primarily for water services.NOTES:1 Clause 4 gives classification of tubes covered by this Standard.2 Guidelines to purchasers on information that should be supplied at the time of enquiry or order are detailed in Appendix A.3 Safe working pressure and testing pressure for installed copper alloy tubes are given in Appendix B.
