Lists the Parts of the International Electrotechnical Vocabulary (IEV), indicates where there are equivalent Parts of AS 1852, and provides endorsement of Parts not published by Standards Australia or Standards New Zealand. The IEV is a glossary of terms for electrotechnology issued as separate Parts, each dealing with a specific field. The Parts of the IEV may be purchased from Standards Australia and New Zealand. For a compilation of the terms and definitions, see the IEC Multilingual Dictionary of Electricity, Electronics and Telecommunications, Volume 2.

The AS/NZS 1852 series of Standards provides glossaries of terms used in electrotechnology. The series is based on the IEC 50, International Electrotechnical Vocabulary (IEV), series of Standards.This Part of AS/NZS 1852 lists all current Chapters (Parts) of IEC 50, indicating the relevant equivalent Parts of AS 1852. Where there is no equivalent Part of AS 1852, reference should be made to the IEC 50 Chapter.
