1.1This test method covers the determination of the thermal conductivity of plastics over a temperature range from –40 to 400°C. It is possible to measure the thermal conductivity of filled and unfilled thermoplastics, thermosets, and rubbers in the range from 0.08 to 2.0 W/m.K.

1.2The values stated in SI units shall be regarded as standard.

1.3This standard does not purport to address the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish proper safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

Note 1:There is no known ISO equivalent to this test method.

1.4This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
