This part of IEC60695 provides guidance on the ignitability of electrotechnical products and the materials from which they are formed. It gives guidance on: the principles of ignitability; the selection of appropriate test methods, and the use and interpretation of results. This part of IEC60695 is intended for use by technical committees in preparation of standards in accordance with the principles laid down in IECGuide104 and ISO/IECGuide51. One of the responsibilities of a technical committee is, wherever applicable, to make use of basic safety publications in the preparation of its publications. The requirements, test methods or test conditions of this basic safety publication will not apply unless specifically referred to or included in the relevant publications.
