This specification covers float type level sensors used in sewage Marine Sanitation Devices (MSD\'s) aboard U S Navy ships. The sensors are used in conjunction with MSD pump control and alarm circuitry to govern pump operation and to activate installed level alarms. The sensors should function in shipboard sewage containing varying amounts of seawater, human wastes, detergents, caustics, acids, oils, solvents, and other chemical agents used on board ship.
