    Le présent Document d'Harmonisation spécifie les conditions et les exigences pour: les essais d'identification (tels que définis en 3.7), les essais de type (tels que définis en 3.8). Pour les composants thermorétractables destinés à être utilisés pour l'isolation électrique ou l'isolation électrique et la protection mécanique dans les accessoires de câbles pour basse tension, tels que définis dans l'EN 50393. Les essais d'identification et les essais de type des matériaux n'ont aucun lien obligatoire avec les essais de type des accessoires. Ils doivent être considérés comme des essais indépendants mais ils peuvent être réalisés conjointement avec les essais de type des accessoires.
