Gives the effects of moisture on heat transfer, which is given here, is valid for all types of materials, but the applications and detailed guidelines have been developed with a specific type of material in mind: masonry with medium or high thermal conductivity, the physical characteristics of which can be roughly expressed as follows: hygrothermal transmissivity: lambda* > 0.10 W/(m.K) vapour permeability: delta[v] < 5*10[-6] m[2]/s or delta[p] < 0.4*10[-10] kg/(m.s.Pa) moisture differential capacity ("hygroscopicity"): xi > kg/m[3] (between 50 % RH and 80 % RH).
