Defines test procedures to determine strength and deformation features of laterally loaded nailed joints in load-bearing timber structures. To assess joints with members of solid or glued laminated timber, or wood-based products, and metal plates (but not punched metal plate fasteners) in the combination suggested for use in service using nails of all kinds, and for determining load-slip features and maximum load of joints where angles between the applied force and timber grain direction, or main direction of wood based products, are possible. Procedures may be used with joints made with other dowel type fasteners, but some details of the test may need to be changed.
