    Describes a method for determining the total optical power emanating from an optical fiber. This procedure may be used for, but is not limited to, measuring the attenuation of the fiber or cable, the loss of terminating devices or methods, the amount of optical power coupled into the fiber by a source, or the optical power at the system receiver.
