    Diese Norm gilt für Schotträume mit einem Druck von höchstens 3 bar (Überdruck) sowie einem Druckinhaltsprodukt von nicht mehr als 2000 bar - Liter, die durch inerte Gase wie Schwefelhexafluorid oder Stickstoff oder eine Mischung ähnlicher Gase druckbeaufschlagt werden, und zwar für Wechselstrom-Schaltgeräte und -Schaltanlagen mit Bemessungsspannungen über 1 kV bis 52 kV für Innenraum- und Freiluftaufstellung, wobei das Gas hauptsächlich wegen seiner dielektrischen Eigenschaften und/oder seines Lichtbogenlöschvermögens verwendet wird.
