Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Specifies the design requirements for mast climbing work platforms as defined in AS2549-1996. It does not apply to mobile elevating work platforms, builders hoists or suspended access equipment. Sections are included on loads and stability, design, mechanism, electrical systems, controls, data marking, manuals and the type tests and production tests required. Appendices give guidance on typical hazards and the special requirements relative to multi-level work platforms.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This Standard specifies the design requirements for mast climbing work platforms (MCWP) as defined in Clause 1.4. This Standard does not include mobile elevating work platforms, builders' hoists or suspended access equipments.NOTE: Guidance on the safe use of MCWPs is given in AS 2550.1 and AS 2550.16.
