Gives requirements for design qualification and type approval of terrestrial thin-film photovoltaic modules for long-term operation in moderate open-air climates as specified in IEC 721-2-1. Applies mainly to amorphous silicon technology, but may also apply to other thin-film PV modules. May require modifying due to the special characteristics of these other new technologies.
