Diese Europäische Norm gilt für stationäre Batterien und Batterieanlagen mit einer maximalen Nennspannung von DC 1500 V und beschreibt die grundsätzlichen Massnahmen zum Schutz vor Gefahren, die durch - elektrischen Strom, - austretende Gase, - Elektrolyt hervorgerufen werden. Sie legt Anforderungen in Fragen der Sicherheit fest, die in Verbindung mit dem Errichten, dem Betrieb, der Inspektion, der Wartung und der Entsorgung entstehen. Sie umfasst sowohl Blei- als auch NiCd-Batterien.
