Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Specifies requirements for the cathodic protection of steel in atmospherically- exposed, buried and submerged concrete in both new and existing structures.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This Standard specifies requirements for the cathodic protection of steel in atmospherically-exposed, buried and submerged concrete in both new and existing structures. It covers the parts of buildings and civil engineering structures that include normal reinforcement and prestressed reinforcement embedded in the concrete. NOTE: Guidance on the principles of cathodic protection and its application to steel in concrete is given in Appendix A.
